Josh was born and raised in Grand Island, NE. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 2023. Josh says he didn't go to college because he was “too busy being #1 with my dinner team during dinner peak” - a testament to his competitive nature.
His McDonald's career started in 2021 at our Grand Island 2 location during his junior year of high school. Josh was promoted to Crew Trainer in 2022, then Shift Leader in 2023. After graduating high school in 2023, Josh was promoted to a Department Leader position. By June of 2025, he became a DL2 and then a DL3 in October when he was transferred to our Grand Island 3 location. A few short weeks later, Josh was offered our Restaurant Leader position for our Columbus location.
What Josh loves most about working for McDonald's is being able to develop a team and watch them become better and better, then working at another store and watching that same team strive to the point where he is competing with them with an entirely new team that he is working on developing.
When talking about his family he says he is from a proud immigrant family. His mother is from Mexico and his father is from Guatemala. He has three siblings: Genesis, Emmanual and Alex; and 3 (amazing) nieces: Annette, Avayah, and Evelyn. His biggest role model when growing up is his grandmother Trinidad, who encourages and pushes him every day to work harder and harder. She taught him the fundamentals of working hard and pushing himself to be better and better.
Outside of work, Josh has a pitbull named Smokey and enjoys watching sports and attending Husker sports games. His personal favorites are basketball and football. He also enjoys playing video games with friends, such as Minecraft, College Football 26, and Skyrim. Josh likes listening to music, especially The Weekend, who he has listened to for over 62,058 minutes! He loves attending concerts with friends. His top two favorite have been The Weekend and Coldplay. His top favorite hobby of all time: Sleeping.
Josh's favorite McDonald's menu item is the McChicken with extra mayo and extra lettuce.
