Greg Hall
Owner/Operator

Greg started working at the Columbus McDonald's in 1995 as crew during his summers back from college. After receiving a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1997, he decided to continue working at the restaurant and learning about the food service business instead of pursuing a career in computers.

After being a crew trainer and shift manager, he became the general manager of the Columbus restaurant in 2000. After a few years of supervising three restaurants, he began going through the approval process to become a McDonald's owner and was approved as an owner/operator in 2010. His favorite part about working at McDonald's is teaching people new information and new skills.

Greg is married and has two children. He has been a volunteer firefighter since 1997 and a volunteer EMT since 2002. In his spare time, Greg enjoys chasing tornados, skiing, and putting up a Christmas light show every year that is synchronized to music.

His favorite McDonald's meal is a McRib plain and a large iced tea with extra ice.

Cory Hall
Owner/Operator

Cory started working at McDonald's after he graduated High School in 1996. After attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for two years and working at the restaurant during the summer, he decided he knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life and came back to work full time at the restaurant.

He started out as crew and maintenance, and worked his way up to crew trainer and shift manager before eventually becoming general manager of the Columbus restaurant in 2005. In 2010, he became the supervisor of three restaurants and finally got approved to be a McDonald's owner/operator in March 2017. His favorite part about working at McDonald's are the people and that things are different every day.

Cory is married and has 3 kids and 3 dogs. In his spare time, Cory likes to fish, hunt and golf.

His favorite McDonald's meal is a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, small fry and large Diet Dr. Pepper.

Steve Wenzl
Sr. Director of Operations

Steve began his career with McDonald's in 1991, working part-time around his college schedule. In 1993, he was promoted to 2nd Assistant Manager and began working full-time while maintaining part-time College status.

As a 1st Assistant Manager in 1998, he attended McDonald's Hamburger University and won the “Gold Hat” leadership award, the top honor in his 100-person class. He was promoted to Restaurant Manager in 2000, then served as the market training manager in Omaha in 2002, before being selected to open the world's first McDonald's 3n1 concept restaurant. When the concept test ended in 2004, he came back as the GM at the 27th & Superior restaurant where he was awarded the Outstanding Restaurant Manager Award & the Ray Kroc Award (Top 1% of GM's in the U.S.) over the next 2 years and was promoted to an Area Supervisor overseeing 5-8 restaurants. In 2013, he was promoted to a regional Business Consultant where he partnered with 7 McDonald's Owner/Operators and 51 restaurants to improve their overall business results. In early 2017, the Hall's asked him to be their partner and help lead their organization as the Director of Operations, and he joined our team in July.

Steve graduated in 2004 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he was a member of the Dean's List, with a degree in Business Management. He and his wife, Rachel, enjoy traveling, cards, board games, and movies. Steve was a “gamer” growing up, once playing Galaga for over 10 hours on one quarter and reaching level 22 on Pac Man. His current hobbies include remodeling, landscaping, golf, and living an active lifestyle.

He enjoys the challenging, fast-paced environment McDonald's offers and deeply values the strength in unity and diversity. His true passion in life is to help everyone learn, grow and develop to be their best-selves - professionally and personally. His favorite McDonald's meal is Oatmeal for breakfast and the Quarter Pound Hamburger and Apple Pie for lunch.

Alex Wenzl
Director of Human Resources

Alex started with McDonald's in January 2020. She came to McDonald's from Benefit Management in Lincoln, NE where she served as the Director of Operations since 2012 overseeing employee benefits programs, payroll, insurance, retirement planning, employee policies, legal compliance, and a variety of other programs and services. She has a strong background in customer experience, operations, and Human Resources.

In her current role, Alex supports our organization in areas of recruitment, retention, orientation, incentives, recognition programs, benefits, payroll, compliance, and assists restaurants with personnel related matters & investigations.

On a personal side, she is an avid Green Bay Packers and Huskers fan. Alex is married and has four children. She enjoys spending time outdoors and kickboxing.

Alex's favorite McDonald's meal is the Big Mac, French Fries with BBQ sauce for dipping, and a large Diet Dr. Pepper.

Bette Wiehn
Supervisor

Bette began her career working part time while attending high school at the Hall Organization's first restaurant in Norfolk, NE. After graduating, Bette moved to Columbus, NE to work in the position of Crew Chief (now called Crew Trainer) at the Hall Organization's newly opened location in 1976. While working in Columbus, Bette worked her way up to the 1st Assistant Manager position. In 1983, Bette moved to York, NE to fill the General Manager position. In 2018, Bette became an Operations Supervisor for the Hall Organization. Bette said she most proud to have been given the opportunity to work for 3 generations of the Hall family: Howard & Florence, Dennis & Kent, and currently Greg & Cory.

Bette married her husband Remi in October of 1982. They currently live in York where Remi is also an employee of the Hall Organization. Bette and Remi have 2 sons, Nick and Jacob. Nick is a teacher and coach at North Star High School in Lincoln, NE. Jacob and his wife Kyndell live in Chicago, IL where Jacob in a logistics manager and Kyndell is an HR Manager for the Chicago Cubs.

In her spare time, Bette enjoys bike riding, reading, and collecting old/vintage books.

Bette's favorite McDonald's meal is the Filet-o-Fish, fries, and a vanilla shake.

Skylar Hall
Supervisor

Skylar was born in Campbell, NE in 1995 and graduated from Blue Hill High School. She earned her Associates of Applied Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting in the spring of 2020. She will be furthering her college online with Colorado Technical University in hopes to earning her Bachelors of Applied Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Digital Marketing.

Skylar started working for McDonald's at Hastings 1 (North location) in 2011. After moving up through shift management and learning all of the department leader roles, she was promoted to the restaurant leader of Hastings 2 (South location) in 2020 and became an area supervisor in March 2021. Her favorite thing about working at McDonald's is seeing people change for the better.

Skylar lives with her 4-year-old daughter Sage, her dog Barley, and her boyfriend Mike of 9 years. She loves going to the lake and shooting guns, with pistols being her favorite.

When asked what her favorite McDonald's food is, she answered "I take the insides out of a burrito and mix it with a hashbrown."

Privat Guiai
Supervisor

Privat Guiai (Pree-vah Gee-uh) started working part-time at McDonald's in March 2012 as crew while going to College. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a bachelor's degree in accounting in 2017. He decided to start a career in the fast food industry instead of being an accountant.

After being a shift leader and department leader, he became the restaurant leader of Kearney 3 (North location). A year later, in 2019, he was transferred to the Kearney 1 (25th Street) location. In January 2020, after winning the outstanding restaurant leader award for two consecutive years, he was promoted to an area supervisor. He currently oversees Kearney 2 (South location), Holdrege, and both Hastings locations. His favorite part of working at McDonald's is inspiring, motivating, and making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Privat Guiai is from west Africa and his primary language is French. He is married and has one daughter. He enjoys playing basketball and tennis during his spare time.

His favorite McDonald's meal is a Filet-o-Fish sandwich with a strawberry banana smoothie.

LaTona Titman
Supervisor

LaTona was born in Lexington, NE and grew up in Grand Island. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1997. She is currently enrolled and working on obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Management through Colorado Technical University.

In 2017, LaTona started her McDonald's career at our Grand Island 1 location as a Shift Leader and she was promoted to Department Leader that same year. LaTona transferred to Aurora in 2020 where she became the Restaurant Leader and then transferred to Grand Island 2 in fall 2022 as their Restaurant Leader. In 2023 she was promoted to a Supervisor.

When asked what she enjoys most about working at McDonald's LaTona's answer was, “Watching people grow. The McDonald's family is huge to me. I consider them family. I also love seeing the smiles on customer's faces, getting to know the regular customers, and learning their orders and learning about them.”

LaTona is a single mother of seven children - 6 girls and 1 boy. She had Dominque in 2000, Brittina in 2004, Kasha in 2006, Jersey in 2009, Malachi in 2013, Ramanda in 2015, and Athena in 2017. LaTona also has one granddaughter and two dogs - a pitbull named Sage and a German Shepard named Spook.

For fun, LaTona enjoys watching her kids play softball on their traveling teams. While all of her kids have played softball, currently Kasha, Jersey and Ramanda are playing, and Jersey also wrestles. LaTona also likes to get her nails done. She considers that her “me time”. She just started traveling two years ago and really enjoys that too. She likes experiencing different areas and atmospheres, different foods, and being able to get away. LaTona says, “It's important to me to take my kids traveling to create memories with them that they will cherish forever.” She plans to take a cruise on her next traveling opportunity.

Her favorite McDonald's menu items are Iced Mochas and “The Chicken of the Sea” which is a McChicken, sub tarter sauce, add slivered onions, tomato, and cheese.

Marcella Medrano
Supervisor

Marcella's McDonald's career began in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she was born and raised. She started as a crew member when she was 15 years old, promoted to crew trainer, manager, and then from 2013-2016 she was the First Assistant GM. Marcella moved to Nebraska in 2018 and in 2019 joined the Hall McDonald's organization at the Hastings 1 location, in 2020 she became the Assistant GM, and then the GM at Hastings 2 in 2021, later that same year Marcella transferred to the Kearney 1 location as their GM. In 2023, Marcella was promoted to a Supervisor.

Marcella says she enjoys working at McDonald's, she loves management. She loves the management structure McDonald's offers, as well as the development structure. She really enjoys developing others and says it is fun for her. She likes to immerse herself in work as much as possible. She loves looking at numbers and metrics and is constantly thinking of how to do things differently or make things better. Improving the McDonald's experience is fun for her.

Outside of work she loves to spend time with her family, whether that's staying home and watching movies or going on road trips to visit family back in Colorado. She also enjoys listening to audio books and making diamond art. Marcella and her husband, Alonso, have three girls. Jazmene is 14, Hazel is 7, and Jaxyn is 2. They also have three cats, Harley, Bunny and Tux and two dashing Dalmatian's Maya, and Peaches.

Marcella's favorite McDonald's menu item is a McDouble with extra onion and extra pickle.

Tanya Free
People Development Lead

Tanya started with McDonald's in 1993 at the Columbus restaurant. She was promoted to Crew Trainer and then to Shift Leader before graduating High School. She went to University of Nebraka at Kearney for college and came back on weekends and summers to work. She moved to Lincoln and transferred to the company-owned restaurants there where she worked her way up to be a General Manager in 2004. She managed several of the restaurants in Lincoln until 2015 when she and her family moved to West Des Moines, Iowa.

In Iowa, she started as a General Manager and quickly became a supervisor overseeing several of the 14 restaurants in the Des Moines area for an owner/operator. In 2019, she became the Training Manager for her operator and put together standard training systems for them to follow. In December of 2019, Tanya had the pleasure of moving back to Nebraska and begin working for the Hall's, the same organization that she started her McDonald's career with. She is currently the People Experience Lead working with restaurants on their training systems and people initiatives. Her favorite part of her job is watching a trainee go through the development programs to get promoted and seeing their success.

Tanya is married to Eric and has a son, Bryce who is in high school. She likes to spoil her dogs in her free time as well as keeping up with the landscaping at her home.

Her favorite McDonald's meal will always be the classic Big Mac and fries, and she really misses McDonald's salads.

Karri Hall
Office Manager

Karri grew up in Glenwood, Iowa and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1996. She attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln before moving to Columbus with her husband Cory. She worked at the YMCA before becoming our office manager in 2017 when our organization expanded from three restaurants to thirteen.

Karri is currently responsible for most of the "behind the scene" administrative activities that keep our business running such as managing invoices, paying vendors, inputting deposits, reconciling bank accounts, and providing monthly financial information to our accountant.

Karri has three children - Hunter, Dillon, and Jenna. In her spare time she enjoys reading, being outdoors, and spending time with her puppies. Their family has two Maltipoos (Maxx and Rylee) and a Goldendoodle (Izzy).

Karri's favorite sandwiches at McDonald's are the McDouble and the Filet-o-Fish, and she absolutely loves McDonald's coffee.

Ashley Miller
Human Resources Coordinator

Ashley was born in Illinois, but her family moved to Columbus in 1995 when she was 8 years old. She graduated from Lakeview High School in 2005 and welcomed her first child in 2006. Ashley began working as a waitress/bartender at various places in Columbus, enjoying the fast-paced and people-focused environment. In 2010 she had another boy, was married in 2011, and had a daughter in 2012. In 2013 they moved back to Illinois to be closer to her father, and other family members. After losing her father to Leukemia in 2021, she and her family decided to move back to Columbus to be closer to her kids' grandparents, as well as her sister, Allie, and her family.

Upon returning to Columbus, she picked-up bartending again while also working as a reading Para at a local elementary school. Although she thoroughly enjoyed her job at the school, and loved working with all of the kids and building relationships with each of them, we had the opportunity to interview her and offered her the chance to join the McHall family. Ashley leverages her love of building relationships and bringing out the best in each of our employees. She hopes to help guide them to reaching their potential, not just at work, but in all areas of life. Ashley is passionate about personal growth and development and putting in the effort to always and constantly becoming a better you.

In her free time Ashley loves to bartend, chauffeur her kids to their various sports and activities, attend weekly board game nights at her sister's, and binge watch shows with her husband on the couch. She also enjoys reading personal development books, listening to podcasts and has recently started working out and competing against her sister on their fitness apps. (Ashley can be very competitive and really likes to win!)

Josh Hofer
Equipment Technician

Josh graduated high school in 2003 and shortly after joined the Army serving for 10 years. He was medically retired in 2013. After his separation, he started his career as a Maintenance Technician and also worked in the Electrical Maintenance field in renewable energy.

Josh, along with his family, spend their spare time riding motorcycles, camping, and other outdoor activities. Josh has a daughter, Madelyn, who is currently enrolled in dual credit college courses, homeschools and is pursuing a future career in pediatrics. His twin boys, Lucas and Avery, and 2 pups, Cooper and Kai, keep them busy as well.

His favorite meal is the bacon, egg and cheese bagel.
